Reserch project
Nobuyoshi Araki Through this artist research project, I was able to dive deep into Araki Nobuyoshi’s artist world and his artistic mind, as being a worldwide recognized Japanese photographer. The reason why I was interested in Araki’s work is because of the encounter with one of his works “Tokyo Love” published back in 1995. I found this photobook in the library when I was walking around and trying to find some cool photo book to get inspiration for my music creation. I was really attracted to Araki’s woman portrait in “Tokyo Love”, and that made me want to explore more about him as an artist. One thing that stood up to me was his "I – Photography" style, which chronicles every aspect of his own life through using his camera and taking photos. This style takes the core place of his artist identity, and his theme for his whole career “sex, life and death” strongly contributes to sharing the reality that he daily captures. Araki’s photography holds nothing sacred but delight
